International News: The earth has been shaking continuously in the Pakistani city of Karachi for the past few days. 19 small earthquakes have been recorded from Monday midnight to Tuesday morning. The epicenter of many of these tremors has been areas like Malir and Korangi - which are close to places where the presence of secret bases related to Pakistan's nuclear activities has been suspected for a long time. In such a situation, questions have started arising whether Pakistan's atomic bases have come under the grip of any big danger?

Tremors started from the first night

The first tremor was recorded late Monday night, whose epicenter was at a depth of 40 kilometers near Malir. After this, 19 tremors were felt one after the other in Karachi. The intensity of many tremors was up to 3.4 magnitude, which may be technically considered 'mild' earthquakes, but their frequency and location have worried both experts and common people.

Why is the earth shaking?

According to the Seismic Monitoring Center of Pakistan Meteorological Department, the reason for these tremors is the activation of Karachi's Landhi fault line. Senior meteorologist of the department Aamir Haider said that this fault line has become active after several decades and energy is slowly coming out of it. He said that this is a normal geological process and the possibility of any major earthquake is low at the moment.

Threat looming over nuclear bases?

There has already been suspicion about the presence of Pakistan's secret nuclear projects around the area where earthquakes are occurring repeatedly. Experts believe that if the movement of the ground continues in such areas, it can become a major threat in terms of nuclear security.

People are living in fear

There is an atmosphere of fear among the people in areas like Malir, Landhi, Korangi and Quaidabad. Many buildings in these areas are already in dilapidated condition. Due to continuous tremors, cracks are appearing in these buildings. The general public is apprehensive whether these tremors are a precursor to some terrible disaster?

Government's appeal: Don't panic, stay alert

The Pakistan government and the Meteorological Department have currently appealed to the public to stay alert instead of panicking. The administration has been instructed to check the strength of the buildings and review the emergency measures.

But the thing that is most thought-provoking in this entire situation is whether this is only a geological crisis or is there something else hidden behind it? Will Pakistan be able to keep its nuclear bases safe in such seismic areas?
